Nah, that's the next and probably final variant.
As others have hypothesized, the "discovery" of Omicron is well timed to help push boosters. In a few more weeks when they've wrung all the fear out of it that they can, they'll declare victory over Omicron and use that for early campaigning for the midterms.
Then they'll need one more variant to ramp up fear shortly before the election to justify their push for mail-in voting. Election fraud is so much easier that way. So many ballots can be pre-printed, marked, and then "found" in the wee hours of the morning with just enough votes to push their {censored} across the finish line.
I believe it will be this next and last variant that will be blamed for causing latent damage. That way as the side effects from the vaccines begin to present and can no-longer be ignored or brushed off as "rare" they'll have their covid scapegoat. In order to make it work, the final variant of covid will have to be even milder in symptoms than Omicron. As in, "You probably have it, your family, friends, loved-ones probably have it! None of you would know! Get boosted!" I'm calling it the flea circus variant or maybe the Omega (final) variant.
Then they'll have their get of of jail free card. "Clots? Myocarditis? Guillain-Barre syndrome? You must've had the Omega variant and not known it. If only you had gotten that final booster.... Oh, you did? Well, you must've gotten it too late, you'd already had Omega before that..." From then on, we're in the phantom-menace phase. Anything and everything that goes wrong as a consequence of giving brand new, experimental therapies to 200 million people with no idea of the consequences 3, 5, or 10 years down the road... All the bad things will be blamed on the victim having gotten Omega variant without knowing it.
That there will be bad side effects that do not present for several years is a virtual certainty. There are with almost every drug/treatment. That's why we usually do longer trials to determine "contra indications." As in who should not take something. Well, we've thrown that process/procedure out the window and are giving, even forcing the vaccines onto nearly everyone. We, as a country, are in for a rough ride the next several years.
