Is this a Chinook wind underway or just a hard frontal system?

It's a hard frontal system, but you could also consider it a downslope Chinook. We've got a cold front coming in that hopefully will dump some snow down here and not just in the mountains.

Wildfires usually are not a problem this time of year because we are usually well into the snow season. This year, however, we seem to be on the warm, dry side of this La Nina.

I'm sure that in the next day or so you'll be hearing it's all due to "climate change." If we would only completely eradicate the coal industry as Rome eradicated Carthage, we won't have wildfires anymore. Riiiiight.
