The Kremlin is trying to erase Russia’s collective memory. It won’t succeed.

Vladimir Putin used the anniversary of the assassination of political rival Boris Nemtsov to award a medal to a Chechen official reportedly involved in organizing it. And he used the birthday of another opponent, Alexei Navalny, to sign a law banning his movement as “extremist.”

Considering the entire Chechen Nation bragged that they would Rule Russia and Russians before Vladimir Putin won election over Boris Yeltsin, and now, after the Second Chechen War, Putin and Russia Rules Chechnya, Putin certainly ha a sense of humor.

Putin's life was centered in Russia's KGB. He spent 17 years as a mid-level agent in the Soviet KGB's foreign intelligence wing .

Your report aligns with the admittedly small amount of personal contact with Russian Americans and Russians in America that I have had.

Also, in my research, it appears that Russia and most Russians are strongly moving away from Marxism, Lenin, Stalin and Soviet Union policy and significantly toward (organized) Christianity, Capitalism, Markets, and a strong Russian Federation.

That’s not what is happening with Russians in Russia.

Putin’s whitewashing of his dear evil empire is bearing fruit.

https://meduza.io/en/news/2021/08/04/levada-center-number-of-russians-in-support-of-stalin-monument-has-doubled-since-2010

“Nearly half of Russians — 48 percent — support the idea of putting up a monument to Joseph Stalin to mark the next anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in World War II, according to a survey conducted by the independent Levada Center.

By comparison, 20 percent of respondents oppose the idea and 29 percent are indifferent.

The share of Russians in support of a Stalin monument has almost doubled since 2010. At the time, 25 percent of survey respondents were in favor of the idea and 36 percent were opposed.

The Levada Center also notes that there’s been a drastic increase in support for a monument to Stalin among the youngest demographic (survey respondents aged 18 to 24) — from a little over 10 percent in 2010 to about 50 percent in 2021.”

There’s a youtube somewhere of Russian athletes being awarded for winning something and the PA played the’77 USSR anthem. They were polite but obviously ticked, and when it was over they sang the new words while somebody in the PA booth got their crap together and found a good recording.

How ironic we get columns like this from the Washington Post about Putin while they are ignoring worst abuses of power by Biden in this country.

Navalny? At he really is guilty of the corruption crimes he's accused of, unlike the J6 protesters who are overcharged and being held unjustly without bail. And I bet he's being treated no worse than they are.

Putin shutting down dissent? Could it be any worse than Biden raiding James O'Keefe's home to retrieve Ashley Biden's diary and then unlawfully looking through his home and phone?

And, nothing in Russia compares to Democrat governors and mayors allowing mass rioting and Democrat DAs letting most of those responsible for the carnage off the hook for their crimes. Putin would never allow protests that even shutdown city streets and most Russians are pleased he doesn't.

Putin has banned Soros. We let him fund DAs that pander to criminals. What's worse?

Stalin is more popular than ever in Russia. 70% of Russian's think he played a positive role in Russia.

Church attendance in Russia, is the lowest in Europe. Only 6% attend church once a month. Church attendance in the US is 25%(once a week).

LOL, sure Russia is moving away from Stalin. Please inform Putin.

"For instance, in 2017 Putin himself condemned the ‘excessive demonisation’ of Stalin during famous interviews with Oscar-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone. Putin even said that ‘tough’ criticism of Stalin amounted to ‘attacking the Soviet Union and Russia."

That’s nice to know. Now is there anything in the article that you think is untrue?

Helps to have a former Soviet Army NCO (served in a “ditchdigging” unit reserved for Christians and other political unreliables) in one’s Sunday School class:)

Came West with his wife and infant daughter shortly after the collapse. Named his son, in the American fashion, with a middle name of individual meaning rather the Russian partronymic (”Christian” instead of “Viktorievich”).

eu.boell.org ... The Heinrich Böll Stiftung is the German Green Political Foundation. Affiliated to the "Alliance '90 / The Greens" political party represented in Germany's federal parliament and based in Berlin, it conducts and supports civic educational activities worldwide.

The usual Marxist-Globalist NGO hosting "Climate Change" conferences and the rest of the Prog Far Left Marxist Propaganda like this:

22nd Foreign Policy Conference - On the Way to Carbon Zero (1) Foreign Policy in the Age of Climate Change - Transatlantic Perspectives.

Sorry, source not credible on anything.
