Yes. They’ve been driving a wedge betweeen men and women for decades now. That and guilt over any number of issues to dissuade people from having kids. Or, if you must have a child, limit it to one.... for the planet.

Yeah, there are those . . . but the main thing is people don't want to be inconvenienced or uncomfortable or make real personal sacrifices.
