Since NYS’s Gov Hochul has just offered up taxpayers to pay for the Bills’ new $1.4 bil stadium in Orchard Park, I’m thinking there will be soon be even more people who agree with your sentiment.
I’ve contended for a long time now that if White people would stop living their lives vicariously through a professional sports team or player(s) the price of tickets and athlete salaries would plumet to where they should have been all along......or leagues like the NFL or NBA would just fold all together....which would be my personal desired outcome.
Also, there is an nfl team in my town and if they moved it to another city tomorrow I would probably dance a jig out in my front yard and get drunk for joy.
The owner also owns a pro soccer team in the UK so I hope one day that will happen.

I agree with you in theory, but the $$$ will never go away. Also, I’m a Laissez-faire capitalist who does not fault pro athletes from getting large salaries if that is what the market says they are worth.
