Trump had a lockdown first thing - shutting international travel even while called a racist - He involuntarily quarantined the Wuhan and Princess travelers. On March 17 he asked employers to accomodate those who could work from home, and asked people to limit travel and groups to 10 or less. In fact, I think just about everyone on FR supported these actions.
Trump left the states to best handle their affairs as the Constitition dictates, but made sure they had all they needed. In April 2020, 43 governors - 24 dems and 19 reps - issued the first of their stay at home orders, As documented here:.

IF businesses and jobs were lost in individual states, that responsibility lies on the heads of the governors who managed their populations, not on Trump’s head. I certainly don’t hold Trump responsible for Newsom’s craziness.
15 days to slow the spread? Pence heading up his task force? Pushing the clot shots? Fauci and Birx in the news daily? Bypassing all those years of vaccine safety tests? EUAs despite all the safe and effective alternatives that his CDC squelched while paying hospitals massively to do deadly things?
I don’t know how many people remember this, but at the time Trump recommended limiting groups to 10 people or less, Fauxci was actually saying that groups should be 50 or less. So Trump basically one-upped Fauxci, as I remember it.
