I assume Trump becomes the presumptive nominee the day he formally announces. And if he decides not to run, then it’s DeSantis.

DeSantis as VP would be a great transition for the 2028 race.
I’ll be long gone by then from the vax but it would be good for my kids.

Exactly,

This is the strongest ticket. Trump can only do 4 years because of the 22nd Amendment. DeSantis would then have 8 years, “all to himself.”

Trump would have to make his home state New Jersey, though. We can’t afford to lose Florida’s electoral votes.

A point of trivia. If DeDantis is the VP pick then Trump would have to run from a different state, probably New Jersey since Bedminster is there. That would make him the only man to run for the presidency three different times from three different states.
