I love Trump but he hasn't exactly been a master tactician when it comes to combatting the left, be it peaceful protest or his choice of cabinet posts.

His greatest strength is saying things that RINOs dare not say. By being so unPC, he puts issues on the table for public discussion.
Immigration, bad "free market" trade deals, an America First foreign policy, even Merry Christmas. Trump mentions these issues, after which "respectable Republicans" can no longer ignore them.
Unfortunately, after injecting these issues into public discourse, he seems unable to do much about them.
Trump is a bull in a china shop. He wrecks the status quo. Which is good. But he's not very good at replacing it with something better.
The problem with Trump is his business ethics make him much too nice for the criminal cabal running government.
