Yep. A lot of folks, religious and secular, are thinking that these beings might be what some folks call demons.
That was the first thought Whitley Strieber had when he encounter them (i.e., they are demons) and he is not a particularly religious person in the classical sense.

Secular UFO writers like Jacques Valee and the late John Keel both concluded that UFOs are indeed some sort of occult phenomenon, but they avoided terms like "demons" in order to avoid the theological associations of that term. But to me, it's a distinction without a difference.
I strongly recommend Vallee's book "Dimensions," or Keel's "Operation Trojan Horse." Both authors strongly recommend against deliberately seeking contact with the phenomenon, as close contact can have dire mental and even physical consequences. Keel strongly recommends against encouraging young children to develop an interest in the subject.
