I know we’re a little off subject here, but this a a good time to bring it up- “Dominique” the true story behind the nun who wrote and sang it is interesting, eye-opening, and quite sad…

I’ve never watched that movie.....don’t have any interest. Don’t know why........I love Julie Andrews.

Oh, I’m familiar with the story of that Nun and how it all turned out. Indeed, no one could have predicted the outcome, certainly not in those preciously naive days of the early 1960’s. We, as a western culture are no longer that innocent.

One of the first musicals I ever played in the orchestra for, and one of the best.

This was the first movie that I saw as a little girl...Mom took me to the theater for a Christmas showing.

The high school that I attended had a fantastic music program...the highlight was the Spring musical. My senior year, it was The Sound of Music. I was the pianist...so needless to say, I know every line & every song by heart (having heard/played them literally hundreds of times)...and I STILL love to watch it every time it comes on!

I wonder if they’ll ever have “Roots” on TV again. The book was better but I remember watching the mini-series in the late 70’s.

“REALITY CHECK: The Von Trapp family openly took a train to Italy and from there sailed to America via steamship. No dramatic escape at night over the Alps.”

Then they owned a very large ranch in Montana...eventually selling it to Ted Turner.
