The really sad and disgusting thing is that this would even be an item on any state legislation calendar.
It is a bill that was introduced into committee by a NYS Assemblyman who is an immigrant from Jamaica and who is (apparently) an open Communist.

The Bill was introduced (at the committee level) in January 2021, almost a year ago. It has gone nowhere since. It has no sponsors in the Assembly, or anywhere else.
