What we are talking about is “cognitive dissonance”:

If a doctor believed what the “experts” said early on and advised their patients to get the vaccine, any later information indicating dangers of the vaccine creates a major ethical problem for them.
Cognitive dissonance is their attempt to square the circle, to convince themselves that they are not really a stupid or bad person.
That means that any evidence of their earlier negligence must be rejected out of hand.
