Does a Law Enforcement Oath Mean Anything Anymore?
American Thinker ^ | 17 Dec, 2021 | John Green

All law enforcement officers, including FBI agents, who are “just following orders” are missing the point of their oath.

I had coffee recently with a friend of mine, a retired FBI agent. We were talking about the mess the FBI has become. He’s even more disturbed about the politicization of the bureau than I am. During our talk he said something very interesting: “Current agents are just keeping their heads down and following orders.” A simple statement with profound implications.

Jobs in law enforcement are fundamentally different than other jobs. That difference is the oath that all law enforcement officers swear. The FBI oath states:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

All federal, state, and local law enforcement officials swear something similar.

Certainly, following lawful orders is important, but notice that there is nothing mentioned about obedience to leadership. That’s because following orders is between the officers and their leaders. Upholding their oath is between them and us, the American people. We expect them to make judgements about right and wrong, and the oath is their assurance that they will do so conscientiously.

It never has. People just didn’t pay attention, as long as it didn’t hurt them or their causes.

they attacked the ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC
and remain protected by the CORRUPT BAR,
they raped little girls while diddling prostitutes worldwide,
as they PROTECT TREASON and CHILD RAPE BY POLITICIANS.

Most Americans think they ALL
should have been Tried and hanged.

The oath has become as meaningless as the “To Serve and Protect” slogan on police cars, unless the slogan refers to serving and protecting the Demonicrat kakistocracy.

Well, the situation may be worse than that; I don’t know offhand what kind of oath the German soldiers/officers swore at the time. And many of the crimes prosecuted in those cases were against “humanity”, not crimes against the German people themselves.

What this article discusses is something to consider while assessing the credibility of FBI personnel, when their testimony and evidence is used in a Federal court case.

It seems that the unspoken oath to the party trumps the declared oath of all offices these days. Stating an oath is a joke unless a penalty is attached at the end of the oath for those who choose to break the oath.

The FBI was corrupt from its inception with its initial corrupt, blackmailing leader, Hoover. It’s only gotten worse since then.

The guards at Dachau and Treblinka tried that. It didn’t work then and it won’t work now.

You want these FIB agents to be some sort of Oath Keepers?

FR had one retired FIB agent resident. I think it may have been Tennesse Redhead???

He went dark after I asked him about the lack of Boy Scouts inside the FIB.

No, and neither does the military officer oath either. Note I wrote officer, not enlisted oath.

Officers predge to defend the Constitution while the enlisted oath pledges to follow the orders of the President and appointed officers.

There have always been those who have ignored oaths and vows.

Think of how many have discarded their wedding vows when they we’re no longer convenient.

I was never in the military, and only in civil service working as a civilian for the army.

I basically took the same o is everyone else, to preserve and protect the constitution.

I took it seriously the day I made the vow, and 41 years later still feel exactly the same way.

It all stems from the very top.

If the head is rotten it soon turns the rest of the body rotten.

At the very top if the president is rotten it goes all the way down.

It didn’t work then and it won’t work now

It WILL work......until someone/something takes them to task for these transgressions. However, the way our government is currently constituted, THAT ain't happenin'

Nope... Been watching the Potter trial and a training officer witness was asked about training to respect civilian constitutional rights. He admitted no training from a Constitutionally legal stand point, but from an officer’s “special authority” standpoint there is training.

Meaning there are TWO different standards. The “legal rights standard” not taught, and the “privileged perspective” Law enforcement is trained to exercise aside from the true legal perspective. They are trained how to skirt constitutional rights because they consider themselves to have the authority to do anything they like because they are officers. They can ignore legal rights if they like as long as they “get their man”.
