J&J was already under fire for the baby powder lawsuits (claims that talc causes cancer) so they could not afford to line the pockets of those making the decisions.

They were given a year to pony up and did not.

So they are out of consideration for the continuing wave of “boosters”.

Just to clarify, the issue is not that talcum powder causes cancer, it's that talcum powder can be found in the same geological formations as asbestos which needs to be removed before selling talcum powder to consumers.

Johnson & Johnson were sued because investigations exposed company knew of asbestos contamination in its talc products tracing back as early as 1971 and they failed to report the findings to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Johnson & Johnson didn't just find and sell "bad" talcum powder, they covered up their own crime and continued to sell it to consumers victims.
