Another purpose of Covid was to go cashless. In early 2020 many businesses with tip earners no longer issued cash but forced employees onto Cards that work like debit cards. But they are operated by "banking" institutions. It was preplanned. And it came about quickly. The system to do this was integrated into restaurants very quickly. Which means someone was already developing the software before the plandemic even started.
