How can the intent of the Constitution be changed by mere citizenship laws?
Originalism would dictate that Eric is an NBC until the Constitution was changed along with the citizenship laws.

Only because Congress changed the laws on citizenship. Either the Constitution has to be changed or Congress has to change the laws on citizenship. Did you read the massive research on NBC years ago?
I did and it is crystal clear to me. The original meaning of NBC was clearly a person born on US soil to parentS who are citizens.
Wives are not citizens by marrying a US citizen and have not for a long, long time.

Natural Born Citizen is part of the Constitution and a mere law change should not be able to change it.
The best solution would be to put the definition into the Constitution itself.
I wasn’t here for the big NBC research but I understand the principle.
The problem is that the very idea of NATURAL born citizenship is that it is considered part of the laws of nature and it was based on the common law.
No mere act of Congress should be able to change who qualifies.
