Makes me curious though; if he loved that car so much, why did he park it for the rats and mice instead of simply taking care of it?
I don't understand "car love". But then, I have only loved living things, not inanimate objects

Why ? Because that doesn’t make for a good movie story line. Perhaps he couldn’t get his life together after the loss of his one true love. Imagination trumps reality every time.
