They could just load up Copperhead rounds into that artillery tube, use laser drones to guide the rounds onto the target.

I thought I heard it was because they can’t properly power it. It takes an enormous amount of energy to throw those things downfield.

Yes, they work better in Quake III Arena.

Because of the heat when firing I believe I read it cost almost $1,000,000 per block due to the rare Earth metals that it’s made from combined with the fact that it takes a LOT of power to sling it.

Ha! You’d also be surprised of the number of people that think all the AC-130 videos on YT are real. Its like they cannot read or separate in game videos from reality, and when you try, they scream, demanding links and so forth.

And IF CIWS nails a Mach++ target in close, the ship gets hit with a shotgun blast of missile pieces. Aluminum superstructures are not armor.

Many decades ago, I worked for a company made target drones that mimicked anitiship missiles

Infamous incident where CIWS did not kill the unarmed drone, which hit the destroyer, killing a crew member.

There was a picture some had of the drone close inboard, with the CIWS shell splashes missing it.

The RAM rolling airframe missile is a better bet, take the damn thing out a lot further from the ship.

Name one naval gun that can simultaneously fire on multiple disbursed targets.
