Les Emmerson, frontman of the Canadian rock group Five Man Electrical Band and writer of the hippie-era anthem “Signs,” died last Friday, Dec. 10, CTV News reports. He was 77.
Emmerson’s wife, Monik Emmerson, confirmed his death, saying, “He had underlying health conditions that made him additionally vulnerable to Covid.” She added that Emmerson had been in-and-out of the hospital for other reasons over the past year. While he was vaccinated against Covid, Emmerson contracted the virus in November and died in the ICU at an Ottawa hospital.

Well see - if he had gotten the booster he’d have been ok.
Or was that the 5th booster…
RIP.
"...do this...don't do that..."
“A catchy tune.”
Making Communism sexy and ‘catchy’ does not make Communism any better...
“While he was vaccinated against Covid, Emmerson contracted the virus in November and died in the ICU”
“’He had underlying health conditions that made him additionally vulnerable to Covid.’ She added that Emmerson had been in-and-out of the hospital for other reasons over the past year.”
Underlying health conditions, in and out of the hospital for other reasons. To be chalked up as WITH the ‘Rona or FROM the ‘Rona?
Inquiring minds want to know.
If he got a nosocomial case of the coof, hope his family sues the living spit outta the hospital.
” To be chalked up as WITH the ‘Rona or FROM the ‘Rona?”
Is he singing My Sharona?
The sign said
no service
without a vaccine card
And the sign says “long hair freaky people need not apply”
So I put my hair under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine outstanding young man I think you’ll do
So I took off my hat I said “Imagine that Huh Me working for you”

Yep.
And the sign said
“Anybody caught trespassin’
Will be shot on sight”
So I jumped on the fence and I yelled at the house
“Hey! What gives you the right
To put up a fence to keep me out
But to keep Mother Nature in?
If God was here, he’d tell you to your face
‘Man, you’re some kind of sinner’”
If nothing else, having huge herds of Herefords roaming the streets would be fairly inconvenient.
Meanwhile, God, mind you, sure seemed to like to tell His people to build walls and fortresses.
*shrug*
"Oh Say now mister Can't you read You got to have a shirt vax and tie mask to get a seat You can't watch No You can't eat You ain't supposed to be here"
Agreed definitely a catchy tune still is is on the playlist of most classic rock stations. However I never liked it’s socialist meaning.
“If nothing else, having huge herds of Herefords roaming the streets would be fairly inconvenient.”
True.
I’ve called 911 twice to report horses on a town street.
911 both times asked why I thought it was an emergency - my reply was ‘if I came around a corner and hit a horse i could KILL the occupants of my vehicle.
911: “Oh. Good point.”
Thanks, FRiend and Merry Christmas!
I remember having that song on a 45 rpm, and putting the little plastic thing in the middle to play it on my record player. It was a catchy tune.
It’s sad we’re losing so many icons of my generation. :(
Well the “signs” now all say “mask required” or “proof of vaccination required.” Although being vaccinated doesn’t seem to have helped him.
True for many, many songs of the rock era.
Nonetheless, it doesn’t matter when I can’t understand the lyrics…
