Well if we are going to use quotes:

“Besides the gutter”. What does that mean? It means I was pointing out in an apparently lost effort of keeping it light that she was attractive, young , with somewhat less than an intimidating BF. IE they seemed a likely mark for a sexual predator.
Anyway fine you can have your moral victory I should have said “attractive”:. Now hurry along because you will all be late to your Puritan party and don’t forget those funny looking hats.
