Remember The Presidential Council on Physical Fitness? If the government actually cared about physical fitness for citizens, especially when it comes to fighting illness, they would have restarted at least this one long forgotten program. Instead, we've become a nation of fat little kids that can no longer be shamed for their poor lifestyle choices - keeping them fat and stupid.
If the government actually cared about the public health, they would have targeted McDonalds and Burger King like they did the cigarette companies - targeted for extinction. Taxed out of any profit margin. Banned from having their crap advertised on television.
