I just heard them referred to as “cashtronauts”.
Astronaut meant something up till Apollo. And on a few of the shuttle missions. Now we get frizzy haired female mission specialists with mental issues that poke holes in the station so they can come home, drive 1000 miles in a diaper with a BB gun to kidnap another space woman who stole their space man, etc. Modern official “Astronauts” have little room to ridicule others.
Noteworthy, on the first mission after the Columbia disaster (Caused by environmentalists changing the insulation foam) it was two male fighter pilot astronauts only. Throwbacks to 1970 kind of guys.
I met a female astronaut once. I decided she was an “astronaught”.
