you aren’t cheating, the FIA is they are making up the rules as they go. The way the rule is written if cars are going to unlap they all unlap and then on the next lap the safety car comes in. Perhaps for next year they can publish a chart which establishes the hierarchy of rules and which article supersedes or trumps another particularly when the stewards themselves caused the conflict. (No lapped traffic being waved through, then only five being allowed to pass and then calling in the safety car. The bottom line to me is if you can ignore or change .12 well why can’t you do the same for .13 or even better just do it the way you have all year.
I thought they messed up in Baku too and it should have ended under caution.
.12 doesn’t read this only applies when we feel like it. The reason many folks are angry is over 51 years of F1 or however long ago the rule was adopted and has been in force it has never been done like this.
I obviously did a poor job of delineating between the race and the social component of you anger, I apologize for that.
The progressives have been working on ending the republic un for more than 100 years, unfortunately the are dangerously close and even if our country we will be so debt ridden that we can’t fend off the any further challenges or crisis.
So, you aren’t cheating and to me the stewards just made it up which I call cheating.
Mr. Choate has repeatedly stated he wants to see them race for the win.
I have a different view, if the race is posted for 58 laps, then it should run for 58 laps and if the cleanup is not complete without complying with the established procedures and standards then it ends at lap 58 under the safety car.
Otherwise, you end up with such things as NASCAR and their Green White Checker which leads to a 205 lap race when it was posted for 200.
Again, my opinion worth what you paid. Thank you for the discourse and have a great night.
sorry for the typos.
All I’m gonna say I. This regard is that the stewards have determined twice now, for 2 separate complaints filed by Mercedes the the stewards were correct In how they handled it, citing the following
“A document released by the FIA on Sunday night read: “Article 15.3 allows the Race Director to control the use of the safety car, which in our determination includes its deployment and withdrawal”
They had discretion on The sc once the ‘sc in this .ap’ sign was posted to the drivers. There were 2 rules they used to determine that the call they made was the right one. They had the siscretion at that point to state whether the race would finish under caution or not, which was their right to do apparently. I thi k they have 72 hours ( mercedes) to lodge a last protest, and it might end up going to court of mediation (or arbitration?) But it’s unlikely to go that far. But we will see
One last point about Hamilton. Picking on him for being a wanker isn’t raging against him. What goes on here at fr is very very mild co pared to the actual raging vitriol on forums with no guidelines. Many folks here agree that yes, our nation has problems, serious ones concerning blm, but that doesn’t negate the fact that Hamilton and ilk I. The sports arenas are ruining sports that we lo e, a d folks have a eight to be upset about that. Bubba Wallace absolutely ruined Nascar. He and the ilk that support his whining blm drmands, have turned Nascar woke, and even gotten people suspended and removed I. One case from Nascar (one of the older drivers spoke his mind over the fact that Nascar has gone woke, and was removed if I recall right).
We see in Hamilton the same demanding blm attitude, and woke attitude that ruined Nascar, and we don’t want to see it happen to F-1 too. Right now F-1 hasn’t quite gone down the woke road Nascar has, but we see signs of it happening with Hamilton complanning about supposedly being so oppressed, znd it’s only a matter of time before F-1 caves to the pressure of the loud-mouthed “social justice” pushers, Nd that is upsetting to folks who are losing one sport after another due to woke crap and In our nation, to the disrespectful attitudes of privileged athletes that hate our country.
We don’t hate Hamilton because he is a wanker- many breat sports heros are less than personable people, a d we don’t hate them for it either. What I personally object to with gi though is his support for a racist violent domestic terrorist group, znd for the fact that xupport for that group has led to the destruction. Of Nascar and is leading towards the same with F-1 if they go as woke as Nascar did.
I turned to F-1 for several reasons, but Mai ly because of how Nascar has crapped all over their fans with all of nascar’s asinine wokeness. I didn’t want to support a league that LIED to us to protect a liar who hoaxes us In The name of blm, and because I don’t want to,see officials in Nascar kneeling when our anthem is sung.
I loved Nascar, and hated it when they went woke. I a,a, turned to them because football, basketball, etc, did the same crap. Ru8ning other sports that I used to love- I turned to F-1 and other sports like moto gp because it was a refuge from the asinine wokeness that is tearing our nation apart, znd because I don’t want to support leagues that do that while crapping all over their loyal fans, Only to find the same wokeess In hamilton.
So yes, I do not like hamilton -not because he is a jerk, but because of what people like him have done to ruin sports that i loved. I make no apologies for it., and will continue to pick on him if he continues down the woke road, and especially if I see it running F-1 like it did Nascar. F-1 is one of the last places a person can go now to get pure sports that isn’t fouled with wokeness, but it appears that it could rashly head In That direction. I pray it doesn’t, UT we will see.
