I did, too, in 1976, when he was running for president on the American Independent Party ticket. One of his promises was that if he won the White House, he would push for a 70 miles-per-hour speed limit--at the time, the national speed limit was 55 mph. However, I wound up voting for Gerald Ford even though I had worked my heart out for Reagan during the primary season.
