Indeed. Saw this some years ago when daughter was deciding which sport to focus on. The whole culture surrounding basketball was (and still is) rotten to the core. Volleyball won.
I encouraged my daughter to quit volleyball because of the abuse from the team and coach and all the injuries. Then after abusing her, they got really mad when she quit. It was ridiculous. The urgent care doctor knew her by name.
