“Nobody can even agree on what eating right is.”
Everyone knows what is right. Natural foods as much as possible with minimum processed or fatty foods.
I lost 60 lbs by cutting out junk food, pop and fried and processed foods. My HBP went away and my blood fat levels are nearing normals from being sky high.
All with no meds.
Good for you! That’s quite an accomplishment. However, there is a constant raging debate about nutrition - keto, vegan, polyunsaturated fats are either great or the devil, etc. Just about every food is processed unless you eat it directly off the vine or out of the ground and eat meat and eggs raw.
Much of the industrialization of the American food supply was a product of WWII as the country geared up to feed an army of millions spread across the globe, as well as hungry tens of millions of allies and former enemies. You don't see pre-war pictures of too many fat kids. And even the overweight adults are "solidly" fat, not flabby.
It's possible to have a diet more like our ancestors' but it takes thought and effort. And these Vegan fake meat products and "organic" shelf stable grocery items? Just processing to an even more insane level.
