America’s UFO office is a GO as US Congress passes bill to probe threat & capture mystery craft buzzing warships & nukes

Lawmakers voted for the key legislation which included the new UFO office in an amendment tabled by Democrat senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

It was passed without issue amid the other political wranglings over the mammoth $770billion NDAA bill that sets out US defense policy and puts aside cash for the Pentagon.

Gillibrand put forward the proposal, which was backed by US presidential hopeful Republican senator Marco Rubio and Democrat congressman Ruben Gallego.

UFOs have become a hot topic in Washington - stepping from being dismissed as a fringe conspiracy theory to a serious national security debate.

*snip*

The move is seen as a historic step to move the debate about UFOs - now more commonly referred to as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) - even further into the mainstream.

And it appears to be a challenge to the Pentagon's separate efforts to head off the amendment as they announced their own version of an investigative unit last month.

Congress's bill lays out a much more wide-ranging effort with an apparent emphasis on transparency.

With the bill now passed and just needing to be rubber-stamped by the Senate, the UFO office will have to be set up within 180 days by spooks.

It will dissolve the temporary UAP Task Force that was set up to deal with the Pentagon report which was released in June.

If there is an alien civilization with technology 500 or 1,000 years more advanced than our own, I’m sure capturing one of their craft will be super easy. Like someone from the Middle Ages attempting to capture an F-!8 using a butterfly net.

Government bureaucrats (including those running the Pentagon) are hopelessly constrained by in-the-box thinking.

Can we at least get a decent picture of one, instead of videos of a fuzzy white dot zig-zagging all over the place?

Remember that exchange in "Independence Day"?
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to the President: "Mr. President, we need to hit the aliens with every weapon at our disposal."

The President: "You idiot! Do you have any idea how much that will cost? I'm running for a second term soon...how will that look on my record?"

capturing... that’ll mean shooting it down.

do you really want to piss off something whose effortless maneuvers and means of propulsion confound earth’s best scientists?

i’d imagine it could wipe out an aircraft carrier with ease... if it wanted to.

giving it a reason isn’t very smart.

When they figure this one out I am sure they will let us know:

These clowns are like idiots that will take apart a radio trying to find the talking people inside.

If it’s little green men, I’m thinking they’re more likely to capture us and blow this little blue marble to smithereens.

If it’s our enemies, it’ll be a go for WWIII... or at least phase 2 of WWIII.

The cameras used on Fighters are for tracking bright shining incoming missiles, IR signatures etc.... So they use FLIR which is infrared.

Firemen use the same technology to locate people in burning buildings.

That is why the images you are seeing are fuzzy and not two distinct because you are actually looking at a FLIR video.

It's not our earthly adversaries...or, given the superiority of this tech over ours, their flags would already be flying over the WH.

And it's not ours or our flag would be flying over Beijing, Moscow, and Tehran.

The simplest explanation for the origin of UFOs is that our knowledge of the deep past is lacking and that there was a previous civilization here that left the planet before the massive comet strikes of 10800 BC for safer places - even if it was just in mega-ships. So since then they’ve been ‘keeping in touch’.

Where’s the evidence, some demand? Perhaps the evidence is right before our eyes, but we erroneously attribute it to our known ancestors, or it is now 400 feet or more below sea level or was destroyed during the 100 years of the strikes.

Who knows? But it is easier to ascribe motive and ability to a local group, than some star faring group of unknown origin.

The UFO office sounds like a great place to funnel money for black operations lock on smoky back room door clicks.

Bingo - feeding the gullible the bilge they secretly want to hear while expanding the size of the trough, now roughly the size of the Grand Canyon.

Yeah, difficult to assess the threat level, especially since they may not even exist; and like with the whole global warming circus, I'm not one to panic first and think later. It helps that I've seen one myself though. So assuming they do exist, you hear stories both assuring and terrifying. But you know a lot of them must be fake, if not all of them, so it's impossible to know for sure what to believe. Take the Travis Walton incident, for instance. The movie was a horror story, but Travis himself says it is made up crap. He recounts the event as significantly more positive on the part of the aliens' intent.

You also hear differing theories about what they are. Demons, time travelers, beings from another dimension, and of course aliens from another planet. With no real evidence, it's also impossible to say. So, there's not much else to do but go on as normal.

Yeah... I’m thinking it might be prudent to just leave them alone. The situation is obviously very much in their favor of choosing when and where. This is like poking a rattlesnake with a stick...
