I think it’s from Betty Crocker’s Cookbook for Boys and Girls.
That is what thought. I have a “newer” version of that cookbook. No candle salad, fortunately.

Oh, my word. LOL... “Rocket Salad” aka “Candle Salad” is in my cookbook. Obviously I never made it. I made Sunshine Salad alot.
