Cool post. I suspect that the red mangroves on that river have adapted somewhat to freshwater. I did more reading of other articles and it seems that mangroves can grow in freshwater contains a lot of calcium in karst environments. That probably means that the freshwater adaption is probably not total. I suspect these trees could be valuable in different regions of the world like In the South China karst region for protecting river banks against erosion, providing fish habitat, and livestock feed.

Is that picture for real? A real photograph? That’s a very strange picture I see no roads, no electricity, no people, no animals, no vehicles, etc. Can’t believe that’s a real picture.
