My mandate protest was very small, just one person. I left a job I had intended to keep for at least a few more years. I was at the pinnacle of my career with that company.

I wish I could make out like I'm some kind of martyr or freedom fighter. Maybe in some ways I am, but if I'm being honest with my FR brothers & sisters, it is looking to turn out pretty well for me. I landed a similar job, though somewhat smaller in scope that is more directly "in my wheelhouse" of experience and aptitude. I'm making more money - a lot more money, on the order of 17% raise. Better benefits, better working conditions, stock options...

So yeah, my company forced me out - and right into a competitor. So enjoy your mandates, experimental vaxes, boosters, and adverse side effects. I'll be over here rockin' it.

Good for you!

Few will be that fortunate, but a sunny outlook (which I guess means temper your needs or expectations) pays off.

The way I see it, personal independence is its own reward. There is always a place that can use your expertise and effort.
