Indeed. These sad sacks of today would have lost us the war. I got a free subscription to Apple TV and yesterday watched Greyhound with Tom Hanks about North Atlantic troop and materiel convoys during the war. Extremely powerful. I knew people who did that route. It was terrible duty. The movie does a great job at portraying the seas, the weather conditions, the level of alertness and stress they had to work in. The captain praying alone in the movie drives home the concern of death always lurking nearby.
