Am I the only one who thinks that The Doors’ music hasn’t aged well...at all?

Riders on the Storm is timeless.

I am surprised that no one has yet called him a casualty of the Deep State./

I believe they were selling more records in 1980 then while they were around.

"Riders On The Storm" is a masterpiece that still holds up well. I have a personal story about this song that I've posted before and will post again someday.

A lot of the other Doors music I find difficult and depressing.

They've got a few that still hold up. In no particular order:
Riders on the Storm
20th Century Fox
Break On Through to the Other Side
Love Her Madly
L.A. Woman

These still hold up although you need to be in the right mood:
The End
People Are Strange
Back Door Man

Nope I’m with you there.

I’ll take it two steps further.

Hello I love you is a total rip off of All Day and All of the Night (most people would agree).

But also - I find their whole approach pretty much a copy of the Animals. Organ as lead instrument. Dark, menacing lead singer, similar type of songs. I think the Animals actually did it better.

Yes, you are the only one. The Doors were and are great.
