They are a former prison colony whose residents voluntarily gave up their right to bear arms in 1990’s. If we dissolved our 2nd Amendment, we would be Australia on steroids. Talk about a nation going cuckhold.
Even while the war was in progress the British still sent convicts to America , and even kept a lot of prisoners from Britain in ships, even in New York harbor while the war was going on. When the war ended in 1783, Britain had to find a place to send their convicts.

America refused to accept any more convicts so England had to find somewhere else to send their prisoners. Transportation to New South Wales was the solution.”
So in 1788 Britain sent the first convicts to Sydney, New South Wales. Peak was in the early 1830’s and that last convict landed in Western Australia (Perth) in 1868. During those 80 years, it is estimated the Britain sent around 164,000 convicts to what would late become Australia on January 1, 1901.
We did not give up our rights to guns. Since the restrictions were put in place, the number of legally owned guns has actually increased and the average gun owner has twice as many guns as back then. It is true, that it is very own to own a semi-automatic rifle, unless you are a professional hunters. However, shotguns and pistols are not that difficult to own, but they are licensed. So yes, we do have much stricter regulations than the USA, but is is myth to say that all guns have been banned.
