Damned if you and damned if you don't. Heart valve replaced with
TAVR method four years ago. Eliquis doesn't have a generic. My copay is $140. Without a blood thinner the stroke risk for me is huge because clots have a tendency to form around the new valve. I guess I'm doomed.

Having TAVR doesn't require you to have long term anticoagulation with drugs like Eliquis or Xarelto. Some physicians will do this for a short period after TAVR, but it's not required long-term - unless you have something else going on, like atrial fibrillation.

I read that there is a generic, as of a couple years ago. They’re just not letting us have it.
