Did you notice that the data starts in January? There was huge wave of covid in January and most of it was pre-vaccine so of course the data skews heavily against the unvaxxed. Many of the health departments present their numbers this misleading way.
If you calculate the fatality rate separated by group you get a very different picture -
24,517 unvaxxed deaths of the 1,314,337 unvaxxed cases is 1.9%
1,942 partially vaxxed deaths of 184,732 partially vaxxed cases is 1.05%
2,200 vaxxed deaths of the 46,331 cases is 4.75%

Statistics can effeminately be skewed by picking a time frame over an ever changing ever changing landscape. I’m not antivax, but I do support peoples right to chose what’s right for them.
Two interesting things I see whenever I look at statistics on COVID-19 related to vaccination status, illnesses, and deaths is the lack of clarity on the percentage of that population’s vaccination status, and the number of people dying who have other underlying conditions.
I do have a close relationship with some people in the medical field and anecdotally they tell me most who are sickest and dying at the Hospital are unvaxed, they have never really discussed with me the underlying conditions that are prevalent.
I agree that the shot is individual choice, but I have concerns people are not being presented with an informed choice. I am not anti vax, I am anti THIS experimental gene therapy sold as a “vaccine”.
To get an accurate picture, the cases/deaths/hospitalizations by vax status should presented on a weekly or monthly basis, and those numbers can be adjusted by percentage of vaccinated. That is not happening, most of these dph are using stats beginning in January that include hundreds of thousands of cases before the shot was even widely available. That gives very misleading stats and those stats are being used to sell the “safe and effective” narrative.
Some states do breakdown the breakthrough deaths by age factors and the demographics are not that different than the deaths of the unvaxxed.
At the same time, this is the group that the shot was supposed to protect, was it not? If the elderly and those at risk are dying at the same rate as the unvaxxed what is the point of this shot? It doesn’t look like it’s doing much of anything, and when you add in the adverse events, it does not appear to have a very good risk-reward ratio.
If we are talking about “anecdotes”, most of the people my local healthcare contacts saw with severe covid in the past few months are vaxxed, but my state is 50/50 vaxxed. Most people I know who passed away in the last wave were vaxxed, only one was unvaxxed. YMMV

I agree that people need better information, some of that requires personal responsibility and some is the responsibility of the people in charge. I think there is too little of both.
One issue non-covid related that seems to be driving things is the gene therapy itself. There are many people deeply invested in those types of therapeutics and this has been a windfall for them to promote the tech. In the long run we will get to see how this all turns out, but for now it’s a personal decision for those who want and they deserve the information to make a sound decision for themselves.

Rereading, I mostly see that I posted before coffee, but the screen names involved opened themselves up for such delicious word play that I jumped in with both feet. For snark, I liked post 17 better.
Civil discourse needs to be valued. Hardball can be ok in some cases but there are limits, and not everyone wants to play hardball. That said, Woodman did a better job of taking him to the woodshed than I.

Well then a lot of Freepers are in hot water, because I saw “Stay Safe” all over FR in Sept. and Oct 2001 when we were under attack from islamofasicsts and then later the anthrax situation was sweeping the country.

You obviously did not hear the Bob Woodward tape with President Trump amazed at what a problem he had on his hands, privately being very candid on how serious it was. Do you questions the President? Shall I play the tape? Good lord man what are you talking about. This thing is a pandemic, he declared it a national emergency and committed tons of federal money into rapidly finding vaxxes (Operation Warpseed). You take issue with Trump on that?
