On Black Friday, the father took son to the gun store and bought him the revolver used in the shooting, mind you, son is only 15.
Mother bragged on FB that they bought their “baby” a gun for Christmas.
Son is caught in class looking at ammo sites on his phone in school, parents were called, mom texted him saying LOL next time don’t get caught.
The parents were called to the school hours before the shooting because son was writing notes, drawing pictures depicting murder, saying help me I can’t stop thinking.
Parents refused to take son home and never mentioned the gun they had bought him, didn’t check his backpack.
Dad hurried home to check to see if the gun was there, it wasn’t.
Mom texted son don’t do it.
I can see why they were charged not saying I agree.
People are not guilty till proven guilty, but the parents should not have fled, not good and it got them very high bails.
I sure hope that you FINALLY get your flooring installed and they do a good job.
How many months has this been, seems like forever?

Geez.....maybe a better time to check, to see if gun was there (still at home) would’ve been BEFORE they went up to the school, after they were summoned there, for his threatening writings/rants.
Refusing to take him home, after that meeting is truly strange...and, negligent, imo. They had (yet another) a chance to parent their kid, but they left it up to the school to deal with....doing something that many conservative parents can’t stand, about many liberal parents.
Maybe they’ll be charged with setting this kid up. Wonder if that’s what the kid’s attorney will go with.
Ironic that he’s being charged as an adult (how many juvenile murder perps in Chicago are charged as adults? 🤔) considering his parents were NOT the adults, in his family.
Agree. I’m a big 2A person. But responsible gun owners need to keep guns out of the hands of people with mental problems.
This only gives gun grabbers fodder.
Why didn’t the dad take him home when he went to check on the gun?
Why didn’t the school insist the parents or dad take the kid home right then?
These parents sound like your typical parents these days - AFRAID OF THEIR KIDS NOT LIKING THEM. I have seen so many parents who pander to poorly behaved kids rather than give them a good kick in the backside. This whole philosophy of trying to be buds with your kids is very damaging.
“The parents were called to the school hours before the shooting because son was writing notes, drawing pictures depicting murder, saying help me I can’t stop thinking.”
Ok, that part I would say was negligence. And not calling the school as soon as they knew he had the gun.
I guess because he was a minor, I’d say they had more culpability than if he was 18.
Probation only though, but the left will go for the death penalty.
BUT this is going to be all about gun control and punishing parents for teaching a kid to use firearms. This case will be pivotal for the right to bear arms when you have children.
People are being arrested these days for things that would never even be considered a crime. I feel like I’m in Nazi Germany and have to watch (or hide) everything I do, as a conservative that believes in the Constitution written

Since June!
I just hope every phase of the remodel doesn’t take 6 months LOL!
I’m trying to find a range now. Then i will measure to order doors for the kitchen cabinets. Luckily the cabinets are real wood inside and only the doors are MDF and didn’t hold up. Lowe’s wanted $30k for new cabinets and I can get doors and hinges for about $5k. If I order soon before inflation keeps going up. Add some granite and the house will look a lot better!
