The "cold" is really just getting started and so is the snow.
We've got four inches or so up here at The Homestead but there's only traces down in Billings and the Interstate. (Maybe an inch where it hasn't blown away altogether)
For now, anyway.
Supposed to snow tonight and again Wednesday thru Thursday night, but they're all forecast right now as "light and scattered".
Sheesh.
That can mean anything from no snow at all to 6-8 inch near blizzard around this screwy place.
I'm leaving all the plows ready to go and I'm not even considering puttin' 'em away until Easter. If not Memorial Day.
Many years ago, a BIL and his family lived in Montana.
Even though I came from UT where we got plenty of cold and snow in the winter, I had never heard of having to have a heater to plug in at night so your car would start in the morning but learned that that is what they had to do.
I remember them talking about something like a “chinook” or something like that.
That’s what they waited for.
I love winter but I think that Montana might even be too extreme for me.
You are a heartier soul than I am.
