This is changing. Fauci is starting to ‘weasel word’ around the ‘if you get jabbed, you’ll have a milder case, stay out of the hospital’ meme that he/CDC are using as their last reason to get jabbed (since the “get jabbed you won’t get it, won’t transmit it has been shown to be false). CDC’s Walensk is also saying things that amount to a reversal of the ‘milder case, no hospital’ meme.
I hope no one dies, but I’m waiting for when NBA/NFL players start experiencing the “sudden collapses” on the court/field like the soccer players in Europe have been experiencig. The sudden collapses have been due primarily to heart issues .... some have been cardiac arrests.

You are right, the lack of info on vaccine issues with professional athletes in the US is a head scratcher... meanwhile pros overseas, as well as high school and college athletes in the US, and pros in certain sports here, are showing up. Makes you wonder if the pros managed to get the “placebo”
