He also made quite a scene at the Troubadour with Harry Nilsson. I don't know who the guy is on the far right, is he from the Monkees?

“That would be Mick Jagger and David Bowie. Sad. “

Was that real for them or entertainment for us?

You could be right and the woman in the foreground appears to be in complete awe of the rock and roll talent that is surrounding her.

Then their lives diverted, and there they were back together for the first time in years to write some new songs and perform live.

They released the double White Album in November '68 and started the Let It Be sessions in January '69. They had been writing and recording together almost constantly since 1963.

In 1969 the Beatles had money and fame and all but Paul had tired of the whole game and, to some extent, each other. They didn't need or want to do it anymore.

Yoko was certainly bad news, but she didn't make John do anything he didn't want to do. He wanted out and used her as a wedge to do it. He didn't have the guts to break up the band himself. He knew much of the blame would be laid at her feet rather than his. She was a willing participant.

Also George didn't know how to read music. From my perspective it's amazing how good he was but from John and Paul's perspective they may have looked down on that.

None of the Beatles knew how to read music.

I remember that someone wanted to replace all of the cigarettes in Mad Men with kazoos. Given that the series was set in the 1960's, this would have been a massive undertaking.

Oh isnt that rich? Disney, which has increasingly promoted every single left wing, anti-family, and decadent cause, now wants to be family friendly and decent. Whatever.

oh... No, None of the Beatles could read music that’s not how they conceptualized songs. The issue was as you said with John and Paul bouncing off each other and leaving George and Ringo to ponder their next moves. My point is that Paul and John wanted George to be Clapton. George could never be Clapton that wasn’t his thing. And frankly part of the magic of the Beatles was George and his genius riffs. So replacing Harrison with Clapton would have crushed the magic anyway.

Blue Jay Way, Within Without You, If I needed someone... All of these awe inspiring tunes that provided texture to the Beatles Albums. But they were so young. They were not even in their 30’s when all this went down. Bottom Line, they did great.

It’s there music that will last forever, not them as individuals. That’s what Lennon said
