Rights are being violated here but we have a Constitution that recognizes natural rights. No other country on Earth does.
But then, I looked up what maybe you were referring to as "natural rights". And you meant nature rights as those not written in laws as in your constitution: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty & the pursuit of Happiness.”
Of course the USA itself did not follow this with black people until the 13th amendment. Australia was even worse, we didn't allow aboriginals to vote until 1962. In our constitution Australians have 5 basic rights: There are five explicit individual rights in the Constitution. These are the right to vote (Section 41), protection against acquisition of property on unjust terms (Section 51 (xxxi)), the right to a trial by jury (Section 80), freedom of religion (Section 116) and prohibition of discrimination on the basis of State of residency (Section 117).
So I guess, in this instance of the meaning of “natural rights”, you are correct. I wish we did have the same Bill of Rights as you do, but it appears that your government violates the Bill of Rights all the time with your current administration. I believe we both have enough internal problems not to be too critical of each other.
