Maybe I had the new version. I had covid a few weeks ago.. Treated it with Ivermectin and vitamins. My main symptom was fatigue and brain fog.
It was kind of cool. My wife could actually see my brain shut off after a minute or so of concentration. I’d just drift away.

My Mother had the ability to zone out when certain stories/lore were repeated, maybe too much.
My wife, siblings, heirs and friends have recently noticed that I have that same DNA/inheritance from my mother. At least I haven’t gone to sleep during some of their reruns.
