Time for sing along
We must remember today the lost soles who found Jesus but have to serve out their time.
Nice. A good thing.
Thanks for this. Wow, times were so different 50-60 years ago and longer.
A San Quentin prison choir singing religious songs!
Led by Tennessee Ernie Ford, no less!
What a great start to Thanksgiving!
God Bless this day, and everyone who faithfully observes it!
Amen!
Souls, not soles
We ALL knew that.....
....where’s your ‘grace’..?....it’s Thanksgiving
Sorry
This is very gracious of you!
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
This is a war song, written to celebrate the Dutch victory over the Spaniards at Turnhout in 1597, during the Eighty Years War. It first appeared in a Dutch hymnal in 1626, after the Eighty Years War had become part of the Thirty Years War.
Tennessee Ernie is kind of an icon from my childhood. Not one I really liked at the time but he was frequently on one of the two channels of TV we received and always set a tone that reflected the times that most of us recall as being far better than the present.
Of course this also reminds me of grade school Thanksgiving programs were kids warbled out this song on and off-key to the applause of parents, usually both Mom AND Dad.
Happy Thanksgiving. Including thanks for times gone by.
