I’m still not convinced that the Salvation Army has gone full Critical Race Theory on their donating public. I’m unhappy though that they’re devoting any time and donated resources to creating a program that takes away from their historical mission. This suggests that they have a surplus of funds and are choosing to spend some of it on social justice programs rather than the more immediate corporeal needs of the unfortunate.
I’ll write a letter to them and see how they respond. I can also visit my local SA and ask them some questions about their role in the program and if any funds I donate would be used towards this program instead of their tangible caretaking mission (food, shelter, clothing). I think I might also be able to direct a donation to a specific use if I donate at the local shelter rather than in the Christmas Kettle.
