We live in a world where apparently everyone is expected to comment on everything. I think it is inappropriate for any politician to comment on any civil or criminal trial. They are our “leaders.” Any comment they make may sway a jury. Any comment they make afterwards will sway future juries in future similar cases. Notice that anytime GWB, or Trump made any comment on a case there was always a cry for a mistrial.

I understand your point, but they are not ‘leaders’. They love to think of themselves that way, because it fuels their narcissistic need, but they public employees - and we are their employer.

There is no ‘leadership’ involved with people who use polling to guide their actions, and who morph into whatever they think will get them elected. Those who are ideological zealots are also not ‘leaders’. They are the ultimate followers.
