TX has very good electric rates and no corporate income tax, perfect for chip plants.
I KNOW I will be flamed for this, but Texas can thank Dubya for those rates.
While Dubya was Governor, he approved an incredible number of electric generation plants and upgrading the electric grid. While he was Gov, Texas was even selling excess electricity to California.
The Governors after him tried to appease the greenies to some extent and that precipitated the great freeze last year. It would have never happened under George Bush.
