Under Australian law, as derived from English common law, due process is being observed in these cases.

The United States has chosen to interpret that idea somewhat differently. That’s certainly within the right of the United States, but it doesn’t get to impose its interpretations on other countries.

The Americans are so upset with Australia when they have much worse conditions in the USA. Looks at all the January 6th protesters that have been locked up with little due process, some given horrendous sentences, for such minor offenses. You don't see them taking to the streets in major protests around the USA to defend these people. Things are so bad in the USA, I guess they need to look outside so they feel a little better.
