Amazing and telling how many replies on this thread mention prayer, nuns, Catholic school, etc.
It was such a different world. My family wasn’t Catholic, but we had friends who were. None of us thought anything about those differences. But the prayer- that was universal- it was normal. No one was shocked when the pricipal asked us all to pray.
