They call them “Red Diaper Babies”.

Read “Radical Son” by David Horowitz to hear the account of someone who came out on the other side.

Sadly, I look at committed Leftists (and David Horowitz was one of them, serving as legal council for the Black Panthers when they were at their peak) as being similar to alcoholics or drug abusers, in that their only chance to escape it appears to be ‘getting mugged’ and hitting bottom.

In his case, David Horowitz had a young, white accountant keeping the books, doing her job, brutally murdered by the organization because the leaders thought that she “knew too much”.

For him, he knew they murdered her, and the realization was life changing for him, turning him into a conservative stalwart.

But most of them never get mugged until they have implemented their tyranny, and one night there is the heavy knock of The State on the door, and the person who supported and believed in them is hauled away in the dark, never to be seen again.

And by then, the act of being mugged is not something that will save them, it makes their arrest, interrogation, captivity, and execution more bitter and terrible as the denizens of the Communist Gulags (past and present) know all too well.

She was beaten to death, and probably raped as well.
