Just a footnote to this story...he’s not a doctor-doctor. He was a doctor of economics, and a business-type manager for the public clinic in Chemnitz. He had virtually no medical knowledge...other than knowing the business/economics side of the situation.
I should also note that early on in 2020, there was another fairly well known finance/economics person who committed suicide (in Hessen), and the objective of finding cash flow to cover increased Covid services was part of his downfall.

I’m paying very close attention these days to stories
that seem to support what I believe or WANT to believe. I’m aware of my inclinations and it’s no easy task, but as long as I don’t find myself getting “invested” in outcomes, I stay relatively sane:) My first clue was “East Germany”.
