Borat is just plain stupid. I had to turn it off.
Blazing Saddles
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
.
The clear top two, neither of which made this lame list.
Animal House?
They gave us the rate of laughs number, but not the absolute quantity of laughs number, or the degree of funniness number.
For me, the most laughs per minute was the almost forgotten Silent Movie. The creators of this list couldn’t find ANYthing before 1980?! My Man Godfrey is from the ‘30s and has ages well.
Ruthless People has to be one of the funniest movies ever. It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World also tickles my funnybone.
Black Panther had more laughs for me than any of those movies (that I have seen anyhow, no borat, bridesmaids, superbad, american pie) and it wasn’t even trying. I must have had at least one belly laugh per minute with that piece of dog squeeze. Worst case of the emperor’s new clothes in show biz I can think of in recent years, to the point it actually got nominated for best picture. All that made it unintentionally hilarious because it was just so outrageously bad and hopelessly ridiculous.
Some more intentionally funny off beat pics would be the big lebowski, raising arizona, a christmas story, dazed and confused. Lots of classics left off the forbes list.
Freegards
It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
WHAT? No “IT’S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD?(1964)”
Then there is some wonderful Harold Lloyd and buster Keaton films from the 1920s.
Porky’s.
My BIL said “You have got to watch this movie! It is soooo funny.” The movie: Borat.
Hated it.......I would give it a high score on the cringe scale, however.
For a good laugh, I highly recommend Rat Race (2001). Hilarious!
Major Payne gave me some big laughs last night.
its a mad mad world
National Lampoon Vacation oughta be in there.
national lampoons “vacation”...
tying the dead aunt to the roof of the car was hilarious...😂...
These threads are pretty much useless.
The reason is here are a lot of Freepers who haven’t laughed since the stone age. They are simply so serious, nothing registers.
The next reason is that this includes movies made AFTER 1970. Again, a lot of Freepers haven’t set foot in a theater since the wheel was invented.
The third, and probably most important...people find different things funny. MY version of funny probably different than yours. I respect that. I would never foist my sense of humor on anyone.
If these lists could inspire “conversation” about the silly things in life, that would be fun. But instead they inspire posts that sound like my cranky old uncles sitting at the end of the bar in the local Vets club in 1982.
So, enjoy what you enjoy. If there are movies on this list that you haven’t seen...give them a watch some day instead of sitting through the daily news. I have to imagine that a bad funny movie is better than the news.
Surprised Trading Places (1983) was not on this list.
I agree with 1, but a close #2 is Blazing Saddles, but today’s PC culture has probably cancelled it.
Hollywood Shuffle, especially the “Black Acting School” and “Sneaking Into The Movies” bits.
